But seriously, this is a place to throw up brief story concepts - they need not be terribly defined - and for people to try their hand at inserting a character into that story concept. We can offer each other constructive ideas of ways to stay within the original parameters, and ways to keep a thread going without need for massive steering.
We can get into more advanced work like character sheets after we've dug into the basics of story creation and insertion.
Here's a first open story idea. It's an urban fantasty in modern day, so all tech exists alongside any fairytale monsters, wizards, gods, demons, or whatnot that finds its way inside.

It is raining in Flagstaff, Arizona on the 15th of May, and that makes the third day straight. That's really how Steve knew something wasn't normal today. The ordinary rainfall for May in Flagstaff is less than an inch, and just in the last three days it was getting close to the 4 inch mark.

While ostensibly enrolled at University of Arizona in Flagstaff for interdisciplinary studies focusing on local mythology, Steve was really using his connections to the collegiate world to try and figure out of magic is real, and if so, what else people commonly dismissed as 'imaginary' might exist.
