Role Play Rules, Regulations and Handy Hints

Contents:

IC Posts
OOC Posts
Godmodding

In Context Posts

In Context or 'IC' refers to all text in the Role Play that is part of the story, either character comments or narrated text telling part of the story... this is what a Role Play is all about so make sure your story is clear, well presented and easy to read. Also read the rules on Godmodding before you start.

Out Of Context Posts

Out Of Context or 'OOC' text is additional information relevant to the Role Play but is not actually part of the story, many OOC posts are questions and answers regarding specific IC content.

DO NOT post OOC posts on there own, OOC content must always be accompanied by an IC post... Posts that break this rule will be deleted.

Irrelevant OOC content and spam will also be deleted by the Battlefield Mods and may also result in players being kicked from a Role Play.

Godmodding

I'm sure we all know that often in a war thread we have problems seeing eye to eye with each others deployments, accusations fly around and great disagreements brew over what was where and when and what losses were scored etc.

its only natural, as we don't have a clear cut system. We have some guidelines... but these are often not brilliantly adhered to.

* It should be turn based giving all parties a fair chance to respond

* Losses are decided by the attacked NOT the attacker, ie I destroyed all your bombers on the ground with my attack...highly illegal!

However there is another resource that can be used to its fullest potential. The MAP. This is actually a great anti god mod weapon, as well as a tool for good thorough RP. For example, it is common to see such things as:

Quote:
'I send 3 million (carrots) to attack your (pumpkin patch)'.

the questions id be asking if it was my (pumpkin patch) are...

* how did the (carrots) get from their bases in the (vegetable garden) of the attacker to my (pumpkin patch),

* how many other peoples gardens have been violated en route..

* are those (carrot bases) even in range of my (pumpkin patch)...

* how long did it take the (carrots) to get from A to B

* how soon before they enter attack range can i reasonably have been able to detect and activate my anti (carrot) defenses.

These can be important details if we are to keep fantasy within the bounds of reality.
